ARTISTIC ROLLERSKATING

Artistic Rollerskating is very similar to figure skating on ice in terms of the elements we perform. Like any sport, artistic rollerskating has several disciplines, the main or royal discipline of our sport is free skating. On four wheels, we perform jumps (first single, then double and later triple), spins of various positions, and sequences of elegant steps.

But because artistic roller skating is not football. It is not basketball. It is not athletics, the queen of sports. It is not the glittering world of gymnastics. Nor is it figure skating, despite sharing so much of its DNA. Roller skating simply does not enjoy the same spotlight, media coverage, or public recognition. And yet it contains pieces of all those sports—and something uniquely its own.
